Eva June (Hoyle) Taylor Obituary (1938 - 2015)

Eva June (Hoyle) Taylor, 77, of Pana passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. She was the youngest daughter of William and Florence (Hoffman) Hoyle, born June 26, 1938 at home on the family farm outside of Ramsey, Illinois. Eva graduated from Ramsey High School in 1955. She cared for her parents until they passed and was an additional mother to her numerous nieces and nephews. Eva worked at Robbins Motel and the Princess Peggy Dress Factory in Vandalia, Illinois. In 1967, she married Virgil Lee Taylor and they lived in Pana, Moweaqua, Ramsey, Vandalia, and returned to Pana for the last years of their lives. Eva loved her children and grandchildren, and the many pets she had over the years. She enjoyed mowing the yard, crossword puzzles, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She loved nature, especially the birds on her feeders outside her window, and could identify flora and fauna from the vaguest descriptions. She was an adventurous cook, trying everything from beef tongue to tofu. And she loved good conversation with relatives and neighbors, sitting on the porch, and just enjoying life. Eva is survived by her four children Glenn Lee Taylor of Maryville, Illinois, Andrew Robert Taylor of Edwardsville, Illinois, Sara Diane (Taylor) Miller of Edwardsville, Illinois, and Emily Jane (Taylor) Johnson of Madison, Wisconsin; two grandsons, Alexander Robert Miller of Edwardsville and Abraham Edward Milledge Johnson of Madison, Wisconsin; two sons-in-law, Robert Miller of Edwardsville and Bryan Johnson of Madison; sisters, Shirley Lacey of Effingham, Illinois, Agnes (Ernie) Stelmar of Spring Valley, California, Lela (Herbert) Matthews of Pana, Norma Grace Hoyle of Vandalia, and a brother, Rex (Evelyn) Hoyle of St. Jacob, Illinois; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, parents, three sisters Delsia Beasely, Ann Randol, and Hazel Hoyle, and a brother, Gene Hoyle. Funeral Information A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie K. Havis-Shear officiating. A gathering for family and friends will be for one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment service will be held at a later date.
