Fannie M. Bearup Obituary (1928 - 2016)

Fannie M. Bearup, 87, of Pana, died Saturday, May 7, 2016 in Heritage Health-Pana. She was born June 6, 1928 in Shelbyville to the late William Sarah (Shonts) Merrifield. Fannie was a lifelong resident of Pana, and a charter member of the Pana Eagles, as well as a member of the Pana Moose, Pana Elks, and Pana VFW Auxiliary. She was an assistant librarian at the Pana High School. Fannie Merrifield and Donald George Bearup were married on on June 19, 1947 in Pana. She is survived by her sons: Doug Bearup, Springfield, IL; Donald (Deb) Bearup, Pana, IL; and Michael (Vicki) Bearup, Pana, IL; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother: Bill Merrifield, North Carolina; and sister: Thelma "Boo" Potts, Pana, IL. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; sisters: Blanche Sexton, Louise Hienz, Neta Bertin, Lola Ringland; and brothers: Richard Merrifield Lawrence "Shorty" Merrifield. Funeral Information No services are planned. Cremation rites will be accorded.
