Ferd Lebon Obituary (1933 - 2022)

Ferd Lebon, 88, of Pana passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 in his home. He was born December 9, 1933 in Pana, son of the late Voltaire "Walter" & Sussana (Kacsir) Lebon. Ferd married Lois Cothern on November 3, 1956 and she survives in Pana. He was a graduate of Pana High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Ferd worked for CIPS as a gas utility foreman, retiring in 1996, after 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the Pana VFW & Pana Elks and also a member of the Pana Eagles. Ferd was a jokester and was well known for his humorous personality. He enjoyed spending time at the Pana Lake lot, fishing, mushroom hunting, and hunting squirrels & rabbits. In addition to his wife, Ferd is survived by his children: Vicky Damery, Pana, IL; Trent (Judy) Lebon, Pana, IL; Brian (Michelle) Lebon, Pana, IL; Lisa (Brian) Carlson, Pana, IL and several grandchildren & great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sons: Randy Lebon & Kurt Lebon and siblings: Edward Lebon, Paul Lebon, Whitey Lebon & Susan Head. A memorial service for Ferd will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Leon Goff officiating. Inurnment will be in Mound Cemetery, Pana with military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home. Memorials in Ferd's honor may be made to Pana Community Hospital Foundation for Quad County Hospice or American Cancer Society and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
