Fern Presnell Obituary (1908 - 2005)

Fern Presnell, 97, of Shawnee, KS, formerly of Pana, IL died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 2:10 p.m. in Sweet Life Assisted Living Center at Rose Hill in Shawnee, Kansas. She was born May 27, 1908 on a farm near Oconee, IL, the daughter of Bluford Clara May Hulse Garrett. Fern was a graduate of Pana Township High School Class of 1927. A homemaker, she lived in the Pana area until 1990 when she went to Lenexa, Kansas to be near her daughter and family. She resided in her own home until last year when she went to the Sweet Life Assisted Living Center. Fern was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pana; Arcana Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; past member of Delta Theta Tau both in Pana. She married Lawrence V. "Buss" Presnell and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1975. She is survived by her daughter: Kay Rarick husband Don, Lenexa, KS; granddaughter: Angel Rarick-Smith husband Charles, Lenexa, KS; grandson: Eadon Rarick wife Lisa, Gardner, KS; 5 great grandchildren: Alexandria, Andon, Zackery, Brandyn and Toby; special nieces: Janet Dorn husband David, Pana, IL; Lola Dilley husband Gerald, Tower Hill, IL; and by numerous nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Walter Garrett. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Sunday, October 23, 2005 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. M. Thomas Swantner officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond, IL. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home.
