Frieda Cohan Obituary (1932 - 2020)

Frieda Cohan, 88, of Pana passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Prairie Rose Health Care, Pana. She was born June 24, 1932 in Mannheim, Germany, daughter of the late Willy & Sophie (Gerrer) Yunker. She married Robert Cohan on November 9, 1954 in Mannheim, Germany and preceded her on August 11, 2015. Frieda graduated high school in Germany and had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a member of the former First General Baptist Church, Pana and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, listening to German music, dancing and most of all she loved her grandchildren. Frieda is survived by her daughters: Susan (Ivan) Barr, Pana, IL & Christy Griffiths, Pana, IL; 4 grandchildren: Robert Thompson, Annie Griffiths, Amme Barr, Heidi Barr; and siblings: Erica Early, Germany; Ruth Tullar, Texas; Ziggy Yunker, Germany; Rosemary Schwartz, Germany. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jurgen Cohan in 1962 and several siblings. Private family services will be held with a memorial service at a later date.
