Geraldine P. "Gerry" Miller Obituary (1922 - 2009)

Geraldine P. "Gerry" Miller, 86, of Pana, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in her home. She was born November 8, 1922 in Pana, the daughter of Charles Dolly Myrtle Edith Henderson Cunningham. Gerry lived her entire life in Pana and was a homemaker. She loved crossword puzzles and playing croquet, which she played very competitively. She also loved to watch the soap opera "All My Children". Gerry was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pana, where she was a Sunday school teacher and the "Card Lady", sending out birthday, anniversary, and get well cards. She was also a member of the Pana Community Hospital Auxiliary and worked in the gift shop. Gerry married John Leonard Miller on March 11, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. They were married 53 years. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1992. She is survived by her sister: Betty H. Shenk, Springfield, IL; 4 nieces: Kristy Del Coronado, Springfield, IL; Heather Bea Jackman, San Diego, CA; Deborah Kinzel Barnes, Chula Vista, CA; Patricia Ann Cook, Taylorville, IL; 1 nephew: Charles Randall Miller, Springfield, IL; 3 great nieces 3 great nephews; 2 cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Charles E. Cunningham on June 14, 1966. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Saturday, June 13, 2009 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pana at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Steven Becker of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Strasburg officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time in the church.
