Joey "Smokin' Joe" Shoraga Jr. Obituary (1974 - 2013)

Joey "Smokin' Joe" Shoraga, Jr., 39, of Pana, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in his residence. He was born June 12, 1974 in Decatur, IL. He was a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1992 and completed the welding program at the Tulsa, Oklahoma School of Welding. Joey lived most of his life in and around Pana, but lived in Highland for a short time. He was a union welder out of Plumbers Pipefitters Local #101 in Bellville, IL, and he enjoyed spending time with his children, gardening drawing. Joey is survived by his children: Marissa Paige Shoraga Mason Lee Shoraga and their mother, Sarah Harlow, all of Pana, IL; mother: Annette McKinney husband Leonard, Taylorville, IL; father: Joey Shoraga, Sr., Pana, IL; grandparents: Joyce Kenneth Griffin, Pana, IL; and brothers sisters: Shawn M. Shoraga wife Kari, Shelbyville, IL; Cole Y. Shoraga, Taylorville, IL; Gunnar Shoraga, Effingham, IL; Samantha Dorcy, Effingham, IL. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Robert Bob Williamson, Robert Lee Shoraga, Helen Fern Eddy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Brown Pastor Stephen Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
