Lorraine M. (Lebon) Kolesar Obituary (1940 - 2011)

Lorraine M. (Lebon) Kolesar, 70, of Pana formerly of Ramsey, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 in Heritage Manor-Pana. She was born on September 4, 1940 in Chicago, the daughter of Kleber T. Mildred A. (Block) Lebon. Lorraine moved to this area from Chicago when she was a toddler and she attended Pana High School. She owned and operated Greenway Kennels for 14 years. She had also worked at Country Care Nursing Home in the Activity Department for 3 years and volunteered there for 9 years. Lorraine and her husband, Don, were also foster parents for the State of Illinois for 7 years. Lorraine enjoyed traveling and had been to sixteen states and Ontario, Canada. She was a Cub Scout leader and trainer for 5 years, a Jr. Girl Scout leader for 5 years, and a 4-H leader for one year. She was also a very accomplished seamstress and poet. She had 5 poems published by World of Poetry, and had a book of poems called "Words in the Wind" published in 2000. Lorraine M. Lebon and Don Kolesar were united in marriage on September 7, 1957 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana. She is survived by her husband: Don Kolesar, Pana, IL. She was preceded in death by her father on January 5, 1989 and mother on July 4, 1989. Don would like to thank the staff and nurses at Heritage Manor-Pana for their care and concern for Lorraine. Funeral Information Per Lorraine's wishes, cremation rights will be accorded. No services are planned.
