Martha L. "Marty" Miller Obituary (1933 - 2012)

Martha "Marty" Miller, 79, of Pana, died Friday, November 16, 2012 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was born April 27, 1933 in Pana, the daughter of John Frederick Verna Pricilla Johnston Laker. After her marriage, she lived in Rosamond until 1958, before moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1960, and coming back to Pana in 1991. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at the Baptist Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Pana and Maryland Baptist Church, Phoenix, AZ and had sung in the choir at both churches. Martha Laker and Pren Miller were married on June 17, 1950 in First Baptist Church, Pana. She is survived by her husband: Pren Miller, Pana, IL; children: Gary Miller wife Becky, Elizabethtown, KY; James Miller, Mesa, AZ; Debbie Stanwood husband John, Collinsville, CT; Janet Patriakea, Pana, IL; Dennis Miller wife Susie, Salida, CO; Greg Miller Amy Clark, Pana, IL; 15 grandchildren: Annetta, Aaron, Lowel, Kristen, JohnMichael, Jenna, Randy, Phillip, Chris, Lily Grace, Pren, Cody, Donnie, Chloe; 2 great grandchildren: Zaylee Don Crystal; brother: Tom Laker, Decatur, IL; and sisters: Mildred Eggres, Pocatello, ID Patricia Sweet, Petersburg, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donnie Miller in 1969; brothers: Fred Laker and Joe Laker. Funeral Information Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Pana with funeral services on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in First Baptist Church of Pana at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Greg White will officiate. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery.
