Maurice W. "Whitey" Pfortmiller Obituary (1928 - 2013)

Maurice W. "Whitey" Pfortmiller, 84, of Pana, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Pana Community Hospital. He was born July 2, 1928 in Elmhurst, IL, the son of Walter L. Mable E. Meyer Pfortmiller. Maurice served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and lived most of his life in the Elgin and Dixon area. He was a farmer and truck driver, and drove a school bus during his retirement. Maurice married Frances Louise Larkin on April 30, 1961 in Elgin, IL. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2010. He is survived by his children: Richard Pfortmiller wife Colleen, Sleep Hollow, IL and Leroy Pfortmiller wife Leslie, Loves Park, IL; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sisters: Virginia Blietz, Shirley Fischbach, Gloria Evans. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Renee Covert. Funeral Information A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, IL with Pastor Frank Langholf officiating and graveside military rites by Dixon Post #12 Color Guard.
