Melody Faith Cressler Obituary (1964 - 2018)

Melody Faith Cressler, 53, of Pana, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 in her home. She was born May 24, 1964 at St. Mary's Hospital, East St. Louis, MO, daughter of the late Frank & Marieta (Altom) Murphy. Melody was a graduate of Tower Hill High School and Capitol Area Nursing School. She lived most of her life in the Pana area, worked as an LPN, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing on her computer, reading, listening to music, watching tv, embroidery and crocheting. She also loved blue M&M's. Melody is survived by her children: Danny Murphy, Milton, FL; Stephanie (Kevin) Young, Staunton, IL; Darrell Cressler, Brewton, AL; 10 grandchildren; and siblings: Jobinia Voyles, Sullivan, IL; William (Debbie) Granger, Irvington, IL; Curtis Granger, Mentor, OH; Shelby (John) Buckles, Owaneco, IL; Robin (Dewey) Woodall, Duluth, GA; Brian Murphy, Duluth, GA; Melissa (Sheridan) Trobaugh, Shelbyville, IL; step mother, Judy Murphy, Duluth, GA; and several nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Kimberly Denise Sutton & Ella Hazel Granger. Per Melody's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services are planned.
