Pastor Don Pease Obituary (1939 - 2015)

Pastor Don Pease, 76, of Tower Hill, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 in St. Anthony Hospital, Effingham. He was born September 21, 1939 in Pana, to the late John F. Pease III Orla I. (Hinton) Pease. Pastor Don graduated from Tower Hill High School in 1957 and received an Associate degree from Southern Illinois University to become a machinist. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. He was Pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church, Pana and retired in 1999 from Mueller Company after 39 years as a master wood pattern maker. Pastor Don enjoyed woodworking and in his younger years, hunting, fishing, and camping. He helped build the Baptist Church in Boody, and spent his life witnessing for the Lord. Don Pease and Sally K. Tapscott were married on December 24, 1960 in Salem Baptist Church, Decatur. He is survived by his wife: Sally Pease, Tower Hill, IL; children: Richard (Barb) Pease, Decatur, IL and Timothy (Tina) Pease, Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren: Richard (Melissa) Pease, Jr., Jeffrey Pease, Tashina Pease, Andrew Walker, Ashley (Justin) Floyd; great grandchildren: Austin Kyler; brother: Gary (Lois) Pease, Stillman Valley, IL; and sister: Imogene Richardson, Duncan, OK. He was also preceded by brothers, Ronald Pease John Pease, Jr. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. with Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, rural Tower Hill with graveside military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
