Patricia "Patty" Belle Beemen Obituary (1933 - 2021)

Patricia "Patty" Belle Beemen, 87 of Pana passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Heritage Health, Pana. She was born May 3, 1933 in Pana to the late Clifford and Erma (Kueper) Culberson. She married Maurice Beemen November 9th, 1963. He preceded her on January 12, 2000. Pat graduated from Pana High School and worked as a homemaker. She was a current member Pana Christian Church and a past member of both First Baptist Church, Pana and Assumption Christian Church where she frequently assisted wherever she could and helped at many funeral dinners. She also served as a volunteer for many years at Fair Havens Senior Living, Decatur. Pat loved playing bingo, watching soap operas and the Chicago Cubs. She is considered by the ones closest to her as a 1st class homemaker, she cooked every meal from scratch, every day. Pat babysat and cared for many others. Her kind and loving ways impacted so many families over the years that everyone remembers her servant's heart. Pat is survived by her daughters: Melody (Scott) Smart Tower Hill, IL and Janice Lay Terra Haute, IN; grandchildren: Cassandra (Brian) Eilers, Terri (Lance) Sziber, Sheryl Smart, Susan (Josh) Hicks, Jasmine Tyus, Jonie Tyus; six great-grandchildren; countless other "special grandchildren"; and brothers: Richard Culberson, Lyle (Linda) Culberson, Wendell (Kathy) Culberson. Funeral services for Pat will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nathaniel Kealen officiating. Burial will be in Oconee Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials in Pat's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Ansar Shriners and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
