Rudy Donald Buescher Obituary (1933 - 2013)

Rudy Donald Buescher, 79, of Pana, died Monday, March 11, 2013 in his residence. He was born November 12, 1933 in Ohlman, the son of Otto and Julia Buse Buescher. Rudy was a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1951. He then enlisted in the Marine Corp in April 1953. He was in the 2nd Marine Air Wing, serving in the Korean War and discharge in April 1956 with the rank of Sergeant. Rudy retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1989 after 33 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Green Bay Packer fan, and was a member of the United in Faith Church, Pana Community Council for the Arts in Pana. Rudy married Virginia Murkin Womack in December 1956. He married Shirley Shippy James on December 26, 1964. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Buescher, Pana, IL; son: Randy Dale Buescher wife Debra, Decatur, IL; daughter: Janet Lynn Crawley husband Michael, Tower Hill, IL; step sons: Sidney Thomas James Sam James, Lecanto, FL; step daughter: Susan Marie James, Fallbrook CA; Carol James, Los Angeles, CA; Rosie Womack, GA; step grandsons: Jason Thomas, Ryan James, Justin Hayden, all in Florida; brother: Vernon Buescher, wife Mildred, Indiana Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; brother, Wendell Leroy Buescher in 1995; step daughter, Diana James Rhodes in 1998. Funeral Information A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 in the United in Faith Church, Pana at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marilyn Rauch officiating. Burial will be in Ohlman Cemetery with graveside military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the United in Faith Church, Pana.
