Sheila Beard Tipsword Obituary (1944 - 2007)

Sheila Beard Tipsword, 62, of Pana died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 3:38 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was born May 18, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Byron "Barney" Dorothy Mae Chandler Shivers. Her family moved to Taylorville when she was an infant and she lived there until her marriage, when she moved to Pana. She was a CNA at St. Vincent's Hospital in Taylorville for over 15 years and was a member of the Lady Elks and Eagles Lodge in Pana. Sheila married Larry Beard in September 21, 1961 and he died in 1982. She then married Jerry Tipsword in 1984,and he died March 26, 2006. Sheila is survived by her children: Chris Beard wife Charnell, Pana, IL; Travis Beard wife Mandy, Oconee, IL; Mitzi Askins, Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Lyndsay Askins, Layney Askins, Lyshya Askins, Brittnee Beard, Brendon Smith, Felicity Beard and Carla Durbin; and by her sister: Cindy Moutrie and companion Jim Bradley, Pana, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, son Luke Matthew Beard in infancy, granddaughter Lacie Beard, and by two brothers: Mark Shivers and Fred Shivers. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Saturday, April 21, 2007 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen Ebbler officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
