Sherrie M. Hocq Obituary (1958 - 2015)

Sherrie M. Hocq, 57, of Pana, died Friday, July 24, 2015 in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. She was born February 2, 1958 in Pana, the daughter of Henry Geraldine (Bartlett) Cole. Sherrie received her L.P.N. R.N. degrees from Kaskaskia College and Bachelor's Master's degrees in nursing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She lived most of her life in the Ramsey Pana areas and was a member of Delta Theta Tau and Pana Moose Lodge. Sherrie had worked as a nurse at Pana Community Hospital for 25 years, as well as at other area hospitals. She enjoyed camping, gardening, boating, and slot machines. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sherrie married Raymond "Butch" Hocq in 1995 in Pana and he survives in Pana, along with her daughter: Michelle (Ryan) Zinn, Pana, IL; step children:Dawn (Cory) Scheibly, Pana, IL; Shawn (Heather) Hocq, Pana, IL; Aaron (Christy) Hocq, Pana, IL; father: Henry (Margaret) Cole, Ramsey, IL; mother: Geraldine Horner, Murphysboro, IL; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters: Kathy (Danny) Sims, DuQuoin, IL; Shelia (Jim) Stewart, Murphysboro, IL; Ruth Ann Cole, Vandalia, IL; Linda (Stan) Wilburn, Ramsey, IL; Angie (Rick) Rhoades, Vandalia, IL; and half brother: Michael (Michelle) Cole, Ramsey, IL. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Russell David Russell officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
