Shirley C. Coultas Obituary (1941 - 2020)

Shirley C. Coultas, 78, of Tower Hill, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. She was born May 17, 1941 in Shelbyville, IL, daughter of the late Fred & Edna (Severe) Russell. Shirley married Jess Coultas on March 7, 1959 in Tower Hill and they had just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Shirley lived her entire life in the Tower Hill area and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, decorating, shopping, cooking and always had words of encouragement for others. Shirley is survived by her husband, Jess Coultas, Tower Hill, IL; children: Dixie (Mike) Rauch, Herrick, IL; Donna Coultas, Pana, IL; Danny (Laveta) Coultas, Assumption, IL; Diane (Kirby) Cole, Tower Hill, IL; Debbie Coultas, Taylorville, IL; Dennis (Deanna) Coultas, Tower Hill, IL; David (Amy) Coultas, Tower Hill, IL; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and siblings: Carl Russell, Pana, IL & Rose Marie Russell, Mt. Vernon, IL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelli Pope and siblings: Eldon, Elsie, Rita, Imagene, Jason, Mason, Jenny, Opal & Virginia. A visitation for Shirley will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Per Shirley's wishes, cremation rites will follow. Memorials in Shirley's honor may be made to the Leukemia Foundation and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
