Thelma L. "Boo" Potts Obituary (1931 - 2019)

Thelma L. "Boo" Potts, 88, of Pana passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 in Heritage Health--Pana. She was born March 26, 1931 in Pana, daughter of the late William & Sarah (Shonts) Merrifield. Thelma lived in Pana her entire life and was a charter member of the Pana Eagles. She had worked at Mallory's & Rose City Tavern. She enjoyed playing cards, playing music and spending weekends at the cabin with her family. Thelma is survived by her children: Billie J. Holthaus, Pana, IL and Beth Harlow, Moweaqua, IL; many grandchildren & great grandchildren and brother, Bill Merrifield, North Carolina. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Amling and siblings: Blanche Sexton, Louise Heinz; Neta Bertin, Lola Ringland, Fannie Bearup, Richard Merrifield & Lawrence "Shorty" Merrifield. Per Thelma's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life service will be held at the Pana Eagles Club at a later date. Memorials in Thelma's honor may be made to the Pana Eagles Club and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
